Council Chamber

Set into the richly carved panelling in white and gold is an overmantel mirror, a portrait of Louis XIV and four paintings over the doors (depicting the diplomatic successes of the ‘Sun King’). The ceiling painting shows the motif ‘The Gods of Olympus’.
